Tonight hasn't been a good night, so have given up. I brought a pair of car coil spring compressors from work to strip the rear shock down. i had a feeling they would be too big, but persisted & got one on.

Then removed the collar & the spring 7 gave the shock a well deserved clean.

I then tried to remove the preload adjuster. it was a wee bit tight, but did start to move, so squirted it with WD40. It came off about 4-5mm then snapped in half, so am on the hunt for a new rear shock :(
    [IMG]

On a plus note, my handlebar bracket turned up, so had a quick play with some Renthals I had lying around.

So, will continue after work tomorrow with the bodywork.

Most of these shocks are fit and forget, a lot of standard ones are just friction damping!

I'll be buying a new one on pay day I think :)
It was a case of out with the old tonight. Old starter binned, new one fitted.

I'm looking at fitting the "side pods" in the headlights with orange LED's to use as the indicators. I bought the wrong ones as they aren't bright enough, so will find some brighter ones.

Fitted the water pump back on after a bit of a clean.

Virtually finished filling the bodykit, so will be ready to "dry fit" everything when I get my rear shock.

That's it for tonight, it's been a long day :)

seeing as it is really foggy this morning, I couldn't get out for a ride before work, so had a play on Photoshop. This is a 1st draft of the paint job. It was inspired by a customers generator that came into our workshop yesterday.

I've also bought a brand new Stage 6 exhaust with a pedmoto end can for £70 & an undertray with a Lexus style back light, so picking them up on Saturday.

I wanted to use Aerox parts for the front, but after reading that you had to mess with the frame, I've gone the Vivacity way. the colour is based on Pramac Ducati & generators. we have a paint supplier that can make any colour in rattle cans, so will be paying him a visit next weekend when i get a day off

Had another play on Photoshop this morning & this (I think) is the final paint scheme. I showed it to my son last night & he want's his race bike the same colour, so that is possitive lol.

Picked my stage 6 exhaust up after work today, so fitted it to see what it looked like.
Fitted the gasket that came with the Malossi kit.

Fitted new nuts & a nice chrome bolt to fit the exhaust.

Botched up the rear shock & fitted the motor into the frame. I'm liking it a lot :)

Had an hour free earlier, so have now fitted the front end properly, it's starting to look something like now. I might remove the Metal X mudguard once the Speedy bodywork is fitted, I'll see what it looks like.

Have been busy with the grinder & hacksaw tonight trying to make a clock mount. It needs a tidy up but the idea is there.

I've been really naughty & bought everything I need to finish the project & put it on my credit card . Missus'll kill me lol.
I want to get this project up and running as soon as poss ready for the good weather Ha ha ha.

I've got an idea for the tail section & rear light, so am going to have a look & see if it's a viable proposition. I want something different instead of just bolting bits on

New steering bearings fitted tonight, so not much progress, will no doubt be back out there in the morning.
