Bit more work this evening. Faffed about with the Koso clocks. They are now housed in the original Peugeot housing. I hope that they don't go wrong because I'm going to have to glue the 2 halfs together. I will tidy the 3rd dial up before I do though.

So, it was onto the engine & stripping the cyinder & piston down.
I removed the 4 bolts on the cylinder head & gave it a tap to release it from the cylinder.

I then eased the cylinder from the piston. There is quite a nasty score down the piston skirt, so a good time to upgrade :)

I removed the circlip from the piston & eased the gudgeon pin out.

    Here's the difference between 49 & 70cc :)

Seeing as I was on a winning streak, I gave up for the evening, but mocked the new cylinder up to keep the muck out of the internals.

check the oil pump before you run it again, looks like its either not got enough oil or its too lean, its an electric oil pump right?

Cheers Scuba. I was thinking of running it on premix. At least I know that it will be right

Wize wurdz. Love the pics. beastie kit. Don't forget to chamfer the skirt of the piston with some emery paper. have you seen the way some peugeot admission tracts are smoothed out (where the admission pipe goes on the case?)
Just a thought while it's in bits....
    more pics please!

Wasn't feeling it tonight, so thought I would do something that needed some brute force & ignorance. Time to swap the front end. I have taken the easy option & plumped for the Vivacity front. All in all it's cost about £60, so not bad. You all know how it goes, so will just put a few pictures up.

Hopefully will be feeling a bit more energised tomorrow & get stuck in properly.

Spent the evening rebuilding the engine. It's sorted now except for the flywheel etc.
I've had a problem with the starter motor, so have ordered a new one. I've got virtually everything I need to finish the project now, but am going to dry build it to make sure everything is right. I'm also pondering on what colour to spray it when it's ready.

That's how she's staying. I like them painted, but not for mine :)

Candy red is my favourite colour & it is sat high on the list. The other is do it in the old JPS Black & gold

Just waiting for the starter dog bush & new starter motor, then I'll crack on with polishing the belt case & fitting the kickstarter

Bit of bodywork before work. I like the kit very much, so am going to try & resurrect it to it's former glory.

can you plastic weld? i agree tho, that body kit does look pretty cool.
i wonder how its gonna handle with the frontend off a vivacity, i was saying on a different thread how vivacities feel like they tyres are flat all the time, they have just such bad feeling when you ride, although that daft speedfight thing is probably worse!

Can't Peugeot do anything normal - like just for a giggle ? I mean - OK - I have heard of Speedfights that are really quick - but lateral admission ? o_O Why go to the hassle ? Never mind the front end.....
    Pretty though.......

The only reason I'm doing it is because it was cheap & it gives me something to do until the racing season.
I have to admit that I really do like the look of the Speedfight & have hankered for one ever since I rode one years ago as a CBT Instructor, plus, it's a laugh :)
Oh, my 100 Speedy carb turned up today, it lookls disgusting, so needs a strip & clean (£20 :))

I tell you - there's a speedfight round here and it is f-a-s-t. Dunno what the kit is on it - but it goes like the Stage6 sport pro/Yas R on my scoot - and that's fast enough......

Spent some more time in the shed this afternoon after work, seeing as the other half was dying her hair.
My starter dog bush arrived from 3 cross motorcycles, super simple fit :)

Thought I would rebuild the rest of the belt drive. I fitted the new slider bushes & looked at the makrs on the metal part, looks like it has been fitted the wrong way at some stage. Sticking with the 6g rollers till next pay day, then going for 7.5g.

Oh dear :( used a pair of pliers to straighten them out.

    All finished :)

Taken the cover off the headlights, thinking of spraying the chrome parts for something different. I'm also going to fit LEDs into the little sidelight recesses too.

Turned back to the bodywork. Glass fibre compound had gone off, so sanded it down & put the body filler on. Need to go & buy some wet n dry paper & start sanding down :)

Spent an hour this evening in the shed, so thought I would strip the rear shock down & clean it. It didn't happen as I couldn't remove the spring. I'll take it to work tomorrow & extract it. I am going to try & refurb it as I like the look of it.

So, I moved onto my 100 carb. It was in a right state, but couldn't complain for £20 posted.

I love stripping carburettors down, there's just something magical about them.

So, I removed the 2 screws in the bowl & had a look at all of the jets. Nice & clean inside, but best to remove them & blow them out.

    & remove the float.

Don't forget the emulsion tube. Thankfully, they were all clean & clear.

Also removed the idle & mixture screw & blew those out to. I did check how many turns out both were before I removed them.

I then cleaned the whole carb as best I could.& put it all back together again
    [IMG]

Then fitted it to the engine as another part done :)

Will be getting some wet & dry from my missus' work tomorrow, so will be starting on the bodywork as she's on lates :) :)

I use thinners on my stuff to clean it all, via a compressed air line and cut down paint brush.
