haha fair play mate , and it still will be more responsive with the delly 19 mm over that shitty gunter you putting a open filter on as well or running the air box you can buy covered open filters for like 10-15 quid so you will be covered for when i rains think the 19mm use 5mm dellorto main jets so id buy a jet box aswell there only a tenner for 8-10 main jets i think fella
yeah I'll be getting an open covered filter as advised by ricky at ped parts. I'll be getting a jet box as well not sure what jet box I need to order though! Looking forward to getting this decent carb on and taking it for a spin! you seem to know your stuff mate cheers for the help!
yeah mate had 10 scooters over the years and about 6 bikes , gilera ,aprilia ,honda , suzuki, yamaha , kymco (shite for tuning lol) and kitted them all up so no a fair bit , just pick it up as you go along best way to learn from mistakes , im pretty sure they are a 5mm main jet just check the size of the main jet before you install it all then see how she runs with it if its boggy upjet , if it splutters down jet , and keep a eye on the spark plug electrode color were looking for a nice chocolate brown , hope this helps bud
any advice is helpful advice! always good to talk to someone with experience! the spec says it's a 92 main jet 50 pilot jet and takes 5mm jets should I buy a box of 88-110? cheers bud
your welcome mate that's what me and every one else is here for ! , and yes mate thats the box i would buy personally , i was in the middle of setting my carb up on my rs before i noticed the head gasket was leaking it's pretty straight forward to do just a piss take when you have to keep pulling the carb off but its worth it in the end as when its set up you no its not going to seize your engine , also has the 19mm got the auto lube nipple attached or are you going to be running it on premix never set a 19mm dellorto up thats why i ask iv only done a 12mm , 17.5mm , and a 21mm , oh and a 14mm sha which are awfull carbs let me tell you lol
glad I found this place! The write up says The carburettor has an oil feed and vacuum connection and so is ideal for daily use. Same performance as predecessor, but equipped with plenty of new, handy features and bulletproof genuine Dellorto quality. So I'm guessing I can still run my normal lubrication method out the tank, if not I'm not to bothered If i have to run Premix. No Idea why my text has a grey back round after that copy and paste but nevermind
It's looking like a more or less straight swap which is good I'm guessing the throttle cable is a swap over as well, ricky from ped parts mentioned maybe needing to adjust the cable but will cross that bridge when i come to it tomorrow so far needing a box of jets an air filter and either a choke cable or choke lever! glad I get paid tomorrow!
yeah mate it is more or less a straight swap over make sure the manifold is nice and sealed to the reed block and engine case as well we don't want any air leaks or it will be impossible to set up and tell me about it i got paid today ordered my bit's this morning just need wait for the post man now so i can rebuild the mighty aprilia engine (not so mighty though haha !) .
will make sure of that, will be getting new inlet when money allows! just so happens everyones birthday is in april so money money money luckily my nana lent me the 70 for the carb til I have it!
Gah, I really don't know what air filter to buy, I found a polini one. http://www.pedparts.co.uk/product/94/polini-air-filter-37mm-covered It says small or large, I'm guessing thats the sizze of actuall filtration bit?, It says it's a 37mm fit and the carb is 38mm so Itl be tight but should fit? I hope anyone any pointers on a decent covered filter for around 20 quid cheers
right got the new carb on nice fit! only fiddly bit was swapping the throttle cable bit over! just waiting for my wages so I can order my choke air filter and jets. Still stuck for an airfilter going to nee one of the ones at an angle because of how close it is to the spring!
