little tip for you to test it pull the spark plug out , put you finger over the plug hole in the cylinder head and have a mate use the kick start if you don't feel enough force to move your finger engine compression is low change the piston and rings , and inspect the bore for wear (score marks) as this may need re-boring or replacing as well
We had an interesting convosation with out college tutor the other day by we I mean me and jack james coulson. He's been the industry about 60000 years and says we shouldn't use that as a way of judging compression, as the rings may have gone but you'll still get compression. we tried to win the argument reeling off loads of different reasons but we couldn't I still say its a way to measure it though!
Rings can perish but you will still have compression, but a general rule of thumb its ok to do for a quick test
yeah that's true there still will be compression but very little , its just a quick test to do if you do not have a compression tester and its always worked well for me , matter of opinion thing really
college lecturers hey cocky bastards mine was the same they have to be right lol , how the speedfight anyway mate did you manage sort the carb issues out with the dellorto ?
It's hit and miss at the minute mate! hopeing putting a well known branded filter on it may help the setting it up! but hey ho!
Will do pal getting a doppler filter on it once money allows! serves me right getting a shitty snide filter haha!
