no it whites up... goes all fury and dull, ali by principle cant rust as theres no iron in it. only iron oxidises as far as im aware (not too hot with the periodic table) and ye i am polishing plastic around 2 weeks of every month.. and its LONG. wanna see perfectly clear plastic in any shape tho? LOL still did a fuckload of hours this week (60+) roll on tuesday (pay day) LOOOOOOL
ye that polishing is swag, was a long time ago and found a good way to polish. not too keen on it though takes a fair while for me lol and for all those who were interested, no im not black.
like i said alex, your close an i got LOADS of polishing gear at work/airlines.. you ever need a hand let me know as i said that took me 2 hours using nitromause, 180 grit.. 240 grit then onto mops.. fuck grunt work. no need to go finer than 240 if you got a decent wheel set (yes you need 3 wheels minimum to polish ali nicely)
weve got a wire wheel at work and sometimes we use it to rip thick paint off or polish things we were rebuilding a honda CG 125 set of fork legs and i asked my bos if i could polish them about an hours work on the wire wheel and half an hour on fine paper a further 20 mins on a buffing wheel with a dressing of soap and o my gosh, it looked better than chromed any thing though that reacts with oxygen oxidises, iron for instance oxides to give rust, aluminum also oxides i believe but obv not as bad as say iron, when ali goes grey and furry that is a ali oxide protective layer to prevent the metal from furthermore oxidization, my dad told me this as he fixes the plant machinary which mines a large percentage of the worlds ali source in Jamaica but yeh minor to achieve that from paper and not machines is pretty good going I found it awkward and tricky with the machines good going for 2hrs work
