Not had new rollers in over 3 years. Do you reckon this could be a case of the bogging issue I have just developed?

At any rate do you think I should get them replaced?

Also I don't think the battery is charging. So I reckon the Stator is shot! Maybe this could be the issue (thinking out loud here). Is it easy to access/check can't say I know where to start looking for it?

Put a multimeter across the battery terminals, note the voltage,
start the bike, voltage should rise to around 13.8 volts, = stator and charging good
No rise in voltage = stator bad
If you have to keep charging the battery then it's probably time for a new one........
Rollers = not a bad idea to change them anyway after 3 years.......

    Thanks for the help. Appreciated.

The battery is quite new, less than 1 year old. Replaced it and nothings changed.

You can check the output from the stator without removing the flywheel.
Find on the fan side of engine there should be a cable to a plug
Your need a multi-meter on AC to check output
Sorry dont know what this scoot should read on output but sure someone here should know, or Google you scoot make and model and should find how to test stator.
From what I have read about scoots most give same output, but im not sure for your scoot
If that is ok maybe the rectifier/regulator not working

If the reg/rec isn't working it'll blow the light bulbs EVERYWHERE:D

not really only if you go flat out up the road but on idle should be ok to check stator.
Multi-meter on AC volts and pull plug apart, check both wires should be yellow and white to earth (negative)
Only pull apart the plug no other wires or may not run

The reg/rec converts dc voltage from the stator to ac, you put dc voltage through a light bulb and the filament blows because it is unregulated, in other words it just keeps getting higher and higher voltage output. Without the reg/rec in place, the battery would cook, the bulbs will blow and the wiring would start to melt.
But seeing as the original poster hasn't reported these problems I think we can say his reg/rec is fine (for now)
The simplest test for charging is a multimeter across the battery terminals.

However you can download the manual here:

Go to page 144 for the stator check procedure for the vx125 4T

Well, set off to work this morning, and can't get above 16mph ( around 20 on the clock). Just juddering like a b$"^%$£d.

Checked plugs, checked filter, that's as much as I do.

Fires up though and ticks over fine, engine revs its balls off fine when on stand but something (belt slipping, variator ????) is wrong.

Gonna get my fave mechanics in.... Will keep you posted.

    Touch wood,
    Rob.

    Stator motor was shot!

Part of the wiring coil was totally split and frayed, blackened and burned throughout, and the rotor was welded stiff.
