    Ok thanks again..

What do you think about using a BR10ES?

Also, Had a 10-15 minute drive a while ago, drove ok for the first few mins but then hummed and died after a gear drop.. Thought I had run out of petrol..

    Then it wouldnt start..

I put ON the choke and it started and drove home fine :confused:arc:

    What does that mean?

Even in the garden when I got back, I was just revving it gently and it was still dying when I gave it throttle without the choke..

common problem, lack of fuel. clean the carb, check the compression. welcome to the unreliable world of geared 50s.

    Thanks again..

I think its something to do with the petrol line, as the bike seems to run better on the reserve tap?? :wtf:

clean the vaccum tap out and drain the tank. unless its just low on fuel

use silkolene "light gear oil" or 10w40 gear oil (can use 4 stroke bike engine oil)

should take about 1/2 a litre

i don't think haynes do a manual for these.

Hey W_T, do you recommend Full Synthetic? I use that in my Aerox.

no i reccomend EP90 for your aerox and it will only take 110ml, unless of coarse youre on about 2 stroke oil. bit offtopic but any fully synth is ok for a 2 stroke scoot.

Thanks, thats brilliant.. Do you know where the drain plug is?

I just changed the plug, I think it is running a little lean...

Here is a pic of the old plug (sorry about the quality)

plug looks okish, cant really tell perfectly.

the drain plug is under the engine i beleive, its about 15 or 17mm bolt head.

    Thanks again..

I finally got round to cleaning out the carb today..

Its actually only a del 12mm, running on an .82 main jet..

I still believe it is running slightly lean, and I am going to fit an open filter (for handiness when working on carb), so.. Will I order a set of jets 100 and under, or 100 and over?

Also, does the filter need to be 32mm?

I am going to do the oil next..

Does the standard reed block work as a restrictor? It looks restricted..

Would I be right in thinking the standard front sprocket in 11t? Would you advise going for a 13t? I would like a bit more top end..

    Thanks again.. :w00t:

under 100, i'd say 84-86 as your plug isnt far out. can't tell you the size of the filter.

speaking from my experience, try 1 tooth and 2 teth bigger than you have on the front, find the closest one
you should just about be able to red-line the bike on a slight downhill in top gear. get it close then alter with rear sprocket sizes.

Brilliant, didnt know that at all..

At the moment the bike redlines so much in sixth gear, it sounds like it needs another six gears :w00t:
