How deep (the thickness) are the bearings? If I know the depth of them I can guide you to the right ones. My guess is that they are 12mm deep but let's see. If they are 12mm deep, you need a 60042RS and a 60052RS bearing.
Yeah they are inner 25 outter 42 wide 12 when I use that site it only shows oil seal for that size the 60042rs is 20 inner 42 outter would it be ok to put a 9mm in replace of the 12mm
The oil seal that you need is this one. http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p2...with-Garter-Spring-R23-/-TC/product_info.html 20x42x6mm thick. I remember that this was the one I bought for my TKR2. That should look like the one you removed to get at the bearing.
The seal is fine just need the bearings going off the measure I did in the pics I posted the bearing size I need is 25 42 12 dose that look right going off the pics and can I put a 9mm width in place of the 12mm
You could use a 9mm, but remember, the whole weight of the bike is on that bearing through the back axle and 3mm difference may cause a 9mm bearing to wear out a lot faster than the original. I wouldn't recommend it - why would you want to use a 9mm bearing?
OK, here's exactly what I ordered from Simply Bearings when I refurbished mt TKR2's gearbox final drive. 1 x 25x50x10mm R23 mm Nitrile Rubber Rotary Shaft Oil Seal with Garter Spring R23 / TC 1 x SKF 62042RS Shielded Deep Groove Ball Bearing 20x47x14mm 1 x SKF BB10623D Sealed Ball Brg 17x40x12mm BB1-0623D Do any of these match what you have in front of you?
It's hard to tell by the pics they all look similar this looks like it but I'm sure mine is a 25 inner but that's a 9mm width http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p1...ove-Ball-Bearing-20x42x12mm/product_info.html
I don't understand. Your picture earlier clearly shows a 12mm deep bearing, are you counting the chamfers as part of the overall depth, or just the flat side depth? The dimensions quoted on SB are total measurements and take it from me you need a 60042RS, but not the budget brand. Get an NTN, SKF, FAG or NSK branded bearing. The original bearing when the bike was new was made by SKF France.
Ok I'll order that 1 when I measure the inner and outer i do it from edge to edge same with the depth
Buy a cheap vernier caliper guage, it takes the guesswork out of it and the latest ones have an electronic readout. Aldi or Lidl have them in from time to time. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-150mm-D...573305?hash=item4878a2b0b9:g:OaEAAOSw1vlUwBy9 At just £5 you can't miss. Highly recommended for anyone's toolbox.
I was thinking about 1 of them the other day just couldn't remember what it was called I'll get 1 ordered thanks again merlin what's your project called I've been trying to find it
It's called 'Project Speedtrek' and it's here... http://www.scootershack.co.uk/threads/project-speedtrek.36421/
Thanks I'll look at now I've just ordered the bearing and ive come across this is it the same 1 http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gearbox-Out...ht-2-100cc-2001-2006-/361537795234?nav=SEARCH
usually indicated by excessive wear, discolouration, or warpage, you will need a varnier to measure it to be sure
