Thinking of adding a sidestand to Mavis (my Honda Sky SGX50),,,,,,,,I read somewhere that a moped, or motorcycle, with a sidestand fitted, has to have a warning light fitted, as a warning if it is in the down position.......is this correct ?.......Del.
incorrect. Most new small bikes these days have a cut out switch fitted so the bike cannot start with the stand down, or like mine, you can start the bike but if you put it into gear then it cuts out the engine.
Pretty standard now,starts and ready to ride on the centrestand - not with the sidestand down ...with older models may not if the stand is an add on.(no inbuilt cut out switch..
