ok this is what bothering me....The scoot still rides...and pretty well too. But as far as I can guess i have to get a new piston and rings....at minimum.

But if i ride the thing i'll eventually end up needing a new barrel too....
I just cant grasp the concept of why it stopped but is now working again...something to do with heat

bike overheats, bike wont run. pritty simple really.. if it gets that hot it wont run and you manage to get it started it IS all gona end in tears VERRY soon after (munch the crank or eat a piston/barrel) wait, and it will cost alot more, you will only kick yourself. not like i dont do this all the time, hence i usually need a new kit rather than a new piston, but fuck it. i dont mind payin a bit more for wsommin i know i can just rag for a month easy wihtout it blowing up

as the piston gets hot it expands,
too hot and its just too physically big for the barrel. so it gets stuck solid!

once it cools it contracts again, and loosens it grip on the cylinder walls,
    which frees it up again,

rings will have taken a hammering though! i seriously wouldnt be riding it though mate! will end up costing ya more than its worth just doing it now!

EDIT: seriously need to learn to type qucker, by thetime id typed that and sipped away at me brew at the same time you 2 had a full blown convo!!! :emb: lol

hmmm...im pretty much stuck now...cant think if i want to fix the scooter properly and bring it back on top or if I want to spend my money on something else. Like i dont wana invest in something that is alreay crap...like the motor

so they say that the bigger cc engines arent keen on high revs....but under 13k should be fine for it if I replace all the bearings and port it right not?

Personally i would look into building a 70 motor and slinging that in there because although it's less cc the 70 lump is more tunable, then stick to a stock 100 lump as a spare. thats just my take on it though.

(i think the mounts are the same)

hmmm...I wonder. I've been hearing that alot. And the smaller cc's can rev higher which would help with top end...

Anyone know what mounts would be the same?
