my mate on his zip 70 now has got a carb problem his carb was leaking somewhere as he said so i sold him my 17.5mm carb and that was working fine on the 172 we fitted it to his bike and its still leaking its had a new manifold and that wasent the problem so do you think its the reeds or anything it doesnt leak when its running though
arc: i havent had chance to check the reeds because i havent got 1 of them star screwdrivers so im going to have to get 1 any suggestions ?

arc:

float bowl gasket is in there nice and the fuel tap you say dave i will have a look thursday ive got a spare fuel tap
The only other thing is the float pin could of come out causing flooding...but
from your description you said you tried 2 different carbs and they both flooded
on the same bike....which led me to think its something on the bike and not the carbs!!!

yeah thanks mate im going to whip the reeds out thursday and see if there blocked and have a look at the manifold ive checked everything and what is the float pin isit the pin that hold the float on lol
im baffled, where is it leaking from?
are you sure the petrol pipe is on properly because when i had my old filter on it pushed it at a very slight angle and it leaked
the reeds cant be blocked mate, anything in the reeds will get blown out with in seconds
but first of all yeah where is it leaking from?

its comming out where the air filter connects i think it has a little hole and its trickerling out from there but if you start it its fine
carb maybe be fucked but you said was ok on another bike. so am with dave fuel tap is shagged
cheers for your help i will get some pictures of where its comming out of tommorow after work
even with a fucked fuel tap the float should stop the flow of fuel. float is stuck in the down position. clean out the pin and needle valve. should sort it

want something that will give me a lot of acceleration
if theres dirt stopping the float opperating it will be fairly big an you can wipe it away. carb cleaner if you have it.
tt pipe with an iron kiit is a good low revving pipe.. revvy kits are no good for stunting as the power comes quite sharply so you end up going faster than you really need to (hence anyone can wheely a 125 while accelerating)
