I hope that you etch primed that transmission case. The adhesive failure of the paint on that earlier photo suggests that maybe wasn't the case... /runs away
It's enamelled, not 2 pack as I normally do. I forgot to cushion the underside when i put the new bearing in for the kick-start shaft.
that carb lets it down, why are they always that funny green colour? looks real nice, you should have it in a display case
Watching this. had 2 of these. near on indestructible. not particularly fast though. always thought about doing a piaggio 125 conversion for a laugh.
It's done. New air filter foam in, had to strip the carb again, main jet was blocked solid, soon sorted. It starts, it goes and it stops like it should, or at least as well as it does with drum brakes. Took it for a little spin around my cul de sac, real strange, but surprising. Typical of me I've overfilled the crank case a bit, but that'll soon sort itself out and find it's own level. So a little later it will be on the bay of E's, hopefully to go to someone who appreciates the vintage/classic nature of it. AND NOT TO PUT A PIAGGIO 125 INTO IT....................wobbly_trials! Maybe now I can get on with the next one.............the RS100
Yup, big brother to the FS1E None registered with DVLA at this moment in time, so..........................could well be a little gem
Isn't that bike an RXS100? I didn't think that Yamaha made an RS100. Can we have some finished pics of the Express please?
No, it's a 75/76 RS100, I pinned it down after some vin number research. And the engine number is the same as the chassis number, lucky for me. Pics:
Surprising amount of interest in this on that auction site. Had a few calls and messages, one asked if i could arrange for it to be shipped to Dundee. It's got bids already, so it will go. Let's hope they store it in a glass case
Had similar when i sold on the Melody,if you're lucky enough - you'll get hold of someone who's tripping down memory lane & the cash to outbid every other bugger..
