if it is a ready-to-fit battery yes if it is one that you have to fill with acid you will need to charge it up first

That's good did look at that one prob just order that one, can you explain something I was under the impression that the scooter chargers the battery as you use it, but some places say you need to recharge it but would you do that if the bikes does it for you?

Don't necessarily have to charge a new acid battery.
Put the acid in, leave it to charge itself for about 1 hour (the acid makes the plates bubble)(leave the top cap off for it to breathe) then fit it and go for a 20 mile ride.
I've used this method for years on all sizes of bikes, works for me.

depends how often you ride and how far really If your a weekend rider its good to just put a optimate charger on and leave it plugged in when its not in use but if you are riding every day you wont need to because the scooter will have been run long enough to keep the battery charged up if that makes sense

that number is just the size of the battery Im not sure if there is a way of dating the actually battery one of the more knowledgable members might know but if it was a older rider before you who only rode it occasionally with that low of a mileage the chances are it is original and it was only a matter of time before it failed anyway
