if big end is gone you will be able to lift conrod up and down, side ways is normal movement, screw might be stuck in fly wheels or even in piston,i would definitely take off barrel and check piston it might be a ring

cant lift it up and down. where is the flywheel? ive taken the bore off and checked around the crank and cant see the other half of the screw. thanks
How on earth would it get in the fly wheel Get a small but powerfull magnet and see if you can get anything to come out.
so ill open it up , get a magnet in there and see what happends. what should i do to check if the bearings have gone while ive got it open? and what other things should i look 4 while it open? thanks and should i upjet it?
What split the crank cases ? If so replace the bairings anyway don't put old ones back in. And check the crank for any obvious problems. it shouldn't move up and down but side to side movement is fine. And i'm not sure on the jetting.
