Ha, it's not a laughing matter... Following my earlier feedback I decided to up my front fork rebuilding performance... I'm pleased to report the sitting-down-spring-compression-stubborn-bolt-undo-method has a 100% success rate!!! Eating all those pies has finally paid off - with my workmate assisting as a chair I compressed the fork between it and the floor (protecting the floor with a block of wood) then an allen socket on extension arm through the workbench top hole - quarter turn & then came a release of pressure and ooze of oil... bolt undid without any resistance... Both forks now disassembled, will order new parts later and fun of reassembly will be all mine shortly...
