Remove rust from exhaust?

Basically I know this is an odd one, I have checked google and all but wasnt 100% sure on what results it told me to do.

Does anyone know or have any ideas how to remove rust off the exhaust (not the silencer)?

When my exhaust started rusting on the outside I just wire brushed it all off, sanded it down and then painted it with high temperature paint. Worked a treat

 

hi yes clean all rust off then use high temp paint

use a wire brush for the drill then treat the metal with rust treatment and then heat spray it shouldnt be to hard done it a few times now

 

i treated mine with rust treatment and it made it worse fml

people moan that exhausts rust and look shit but amount of people say how can i stop this well its easy dont be a lazy bastard and clean up with wd-40 after every ride, alot of u think fuck that too much effort and heard it before but takes couple mins to get all dirt off, just think of it this way what takes more time wipe with wd-40 or take whole exhaust off and spray it?

Yes. Everyone does things and fuck things up i agree been there done that and main thing is learn from your mistakes
