needs quite a lot of work as you can see, first step is cutting off the floorfan and welding a new one on, garage will be picking the sccot up next week for this.

wiring loom is next, not sure about who is doing that :)

then its cables, not exactly a big job but fiddly.

finally, its the respray: getting some colour - match paint done for it, so it should llok (hopefully like new when done.

inbetween all this are the odd jobs, new rims, levers, grips ect.

sorry but its just fucking ugly lol :eh:

to be honest id just take the ?800, most collector boffins are only interested in top jobby restorations so if its resptrayed with cans it wouldnt be quite as perfect restoration if ya see what i mean :wtf:

good look with it tho if ya defo keeping it :)

yep it runs, everything works apart from the rear brake lever (actual brake works fine) but lever is siezed. gears all secect, clutch works, front brake works, the throttle still springs back!

the thing has not been started for 33 years (really), and all i had to do was put fresh petrol in and blow out the jets, and it started! thats vespa engines for ya!

garage next week - floorboards are being done. ?200 to cut off the old footboards and weld a new floorpan in place, includiong the price of the pan itsself :)

Not too hard to do yourself. Take off the headset, and take out the petrol tank. Disconnect the wires and cables. Tie some string to the existing wires and pull them out through the frame. Tie a piece of rope to the string and pull that back through. You can get a new loom from Beedspeed or similar. Connect it to the rope and pull through again.

Use carpet tape to fix the new cable to the old one, and pull them through.

It worked on my Bajaj. If I can do it, it must be easy! :D

Yeah mate, make it standard and get a decent paintjob on it and you'll make an absolute killing.

Don't can spray it for my sake

old shape 400 thas neerly dead. restore it fully and you will get anything up to 15k for it (sounds stupid i know) that things worth SERIOUSE bank once restored so do a good job and dont be tempted by bait on the line, theres obviously a reason for people making offers
