Properly cleaned up,next o/size,nicely blacked out.
What would be the best medium or method for cleaning it up/esp.without leaving residue(s) & would i need to take the next o/size piston (inc.rings?) to the engineer to match up.?.

The ideal would be the have it bored, sleeved, and honed to bottom size (standard piston size).
That way it can be honed again and again to suit the oversized pistons as and when they are required.
Plus you get a better longer lasting barrel due to the sleeve being metal instead of aluminium.
However the cost of such an exercise is high compared to just replacing the barrel and piston with another.
It's common practice on moto cross engines where they had nikasil plated barrels from new.
We didn't have them re-plated, just bored sleeved and honed.

Weigh up the cost with the machine shop first before buying anything, sometimes it's not worth it.
These days I only go down the sleeve route if it is an old and classic bike that parts are practically impossible to find.
