100% clear coat it mate. Makes the colours proper pop and will protect the paint. Then give it a polish. I bought compound but my uncle says it is quite risky on cellulose, a polish will do fine ;)

you wont ever get a shine from celluloce wihtout clear coat...

celluloce/water based or acrylic needs a clear... enamel and 2 pack doesent altho you can clear enamel, its risky as fuck tho due to the reactive nature of the paints..

its all down to what paint your using.

Ty minor. Where abouts? You wouldn't believe how much crap has stuck to the panels from sitting in the shed, they look terrible and it has taken the gloss away, really need to polish them but gonna wait till bike is complete ;)

what i don't get when preping a panel is what happens if you sand a portion too much? and then it's uneven :confused:cratch: i guess it's one of those quetions that can only be answered if u actually do it :good:

    Re: Project VX

you spray a heavier coat on and use a finer sandpaper next time... aslong as your even and keep clear of the edges it wont rub through.. once your done go over the edges (and the space you left around them) verry lightly for little time, edges dont really need to shine as much as flats anyway. you would be supprised just how long you can go on a pannel wiht anything over 1500 paper

    SNEAKY UPDATE (28/08/2009)

Dad has been a busy man down the shed making up a couple of parts I need

First up is the undertray bracket, mounted on the seatbucket and holds underneath the undertray nice and secure so it won't go anywhere

Next up is this little beast that is in the process of becoming a numberplate holder
Some of you may remember the GILERA180 bracket he made, it will be a bit different to that.

    UPDATE (06/09/2009)

Was a longer job than I thought but I had to take the casing off and give that a good polish. Then I had some screws bought a while back, polished them then relised they were too big so had to cut them down and thread them more because the shoulder was too big. But anyway, did that and fitted the airbox and bit infront, also the rear mudguard. So everything was there to start her up but then my battery power back was dead so gonna start it up Wednesday

    Pics from today:
