maybe wet and dry abit more on the white where the red will go. then put the maskin take a few mm wider then on the 2nd coat bring the maskin tape in and again for 3rd coat of red then lots and lots of lacquer to thinken it all all out and make it level :)

anytime you mask and paint another colour on it will leave a step, you just flood it with laquor then flat that off... then re laquor over the flat. never try and remove a step/join in paint, it just moves the line further away from the base colour... the only way round this is double mask... as in mask up the primed pannel, paint, reverse the masking overlapping by 1mm then flat sand.. the line will appear in flat paint, but its LONG winded...

best way is to flood wiht laquor till the laquor is above the level of the lower colour then flat, then re laquor. finnish will be nice an deep this way ;)

do exactly that, do whatever graphics your doing laquer it, wet flat it until all orange peel is gone being sure not to rub through, then re laquer until it flats out then polish it
wont take that many coats tbh if u get enough paint on on each coat

Well it's my first time spraying with the compressor so if it isn't perfect then I'm not too fussed as this is more of a learning project although I would like a good finish.

Thanks for the advice stig, I'm gonna try me best on how it comes out.

Burns, don't want to take too much off n ruin it tbh so if there is a little step then so be it

Yeah minor, basically what you're saying I'm going to do.

I've got some compound n some good polish for after I'm done too.

I'm not sure on how many coats of laquer to use though.

Mainly for a bit of balance but it is something to do with how the paint will avoid going elsewhere from the gases going around in the balloon.
