    FIRST UPDATE :confused:hock: (02/12/2009)

Today was planage. Removed today was:

    Oil tank
    Seat
    Clips
    Shock
    Battery
    Seat bucket

Then we put the seat bucket back on for mock up and to design the rear until I get hold of some SR panels to start the front. Oh yeah, pretty sure that I need a clip to hold the ignition in, there is one on the back, but I imagine if there was 1 in the middle next to the tube it will hold it in place.

Frame was quite rusty, not sure yet, but thinking after the modifications to powdercoat it white.

Here is a pic of the frame to show the rust:

Here is a pic of the shock, going to be replaced with a flashy shock ;)

Here is a pic of the centre stand, not sure whether to keep it on or just use side stand, but for convienience (sp) I'd like both.

Here is a pic of the design.

Here is a close up pic of the design. The dotted line is the frame the other side. The thick line is the line of the panels. The big circle is the frame support. The small circle is the plan for another frame support. There is a arrow where I plan to cut the frame, just after the shock support, then making the back a bit custom with the other support.

Here shows the CBR RR rear which has been cut up a bit for mock up but will be lower so it won't look silly.

Here is a pic of the seat bucket. I plan to take off about 2cms height to bring the panel down. Planning on using a CBR RR seat. Also going to hack the shit out of the seat bucket so can get a nice undertray on there.

That's about it for now ;) .. Going to NEC Birmingham to have a look obv at bikes n bits etc but going to look out for things to add to the runner, maybe some bars, levers, clocks n any random bits I see.

and the seller said that cut the frame from behind the rear shocker and make a small tube sub frame as on the ducati, however this was only so none of the original gilera frame was on show. is this what you are doing ?
in this pic were the blue is i plan to cut my frame and make a tube sun frame were the red is does this sound right or am i off the mark ,

:confused:hock: You bought those pans. What seat you going for? I can take a pic of under my Duc seat if you want. Even with the frame cut, you will have ALOT shown underneath unless you plan on a undertray but because it's so high it might look a bit odd. Like imagine looking from the back? Good luck though mate.

I was going to make a bar parralel to the main support, hadn't thought of your idea. But not sure yet still. Here is a couple of pics of those panels with the frame cut or different frame:

Na mine is going to be almost like it's moulded into the runner panel not bunged on top. The seat bucket will be cut down and obv the runner pans and CBR pan will be cut up and will sit lower ;)

Ah right, I can see 2 pics, not sure how many you posted. The first pic is from above which is useless and the other pic is from the front and a distance so can't make out from those angles obviously. I'm not trying to put a downer on it btw. Looking from exact rear in line with numberplate, side from below, just to see what underneath looks like would be good. I'll get a pic for ya, looks like he has done a custom seat, has he not got that still?

Whole bikes fucking ugly. gileratyphoon172 you sure you weren't on the crack when ya bought those pans? :p

As for the frame cut... You just planning on adding another support to help you bolt bits on or something? As did pretty much the same chop on the sprinter and haven't lost any structure. Most we need to do is beef up the shock mount slightly.

gileratyphoon, i wouldn't touch them pans to be honest mate,

i would put them in a garage some where and store them for shows etc,
i wouldn't ride around with them and risk the worse happening.

i don't think duc pans suit runners because the rears quite square and the runners very roundie (none evo pans).

but a lot of works gone in to the paint and modding of them pans so i would keep them in a safe place.

jeff mate , that shit looks tasty already, im just wondering if the rear is going to hang out to far and ruin the proportions of the bike tho?.

if you can jeff, id reinvent every pan.

full custom body work :good: , (if any one can do it jeff can!) lol

Well tErr0 ain't decided how the rear is going to mount yet, because at the moment it would just be on the sides of the seat bucket. I spose I could do as you've done because the rear is tin like and there just for the spoiler and rear light. I might make a little bracket of some sort to support the weight of the rear light. The cut would be after the shock mount so wouldn't have to worry about that so yeah cheers mate.

Well gileratyph, you bought them because you like them so put em on ;) That V piece is there because if you look, that's what he had bolted it to in the past. Yeah the deadline for this scoot is IOW so can see everyone n show off haha.

Cheers fireman, it's all on mock up lol, I still gotta fuck about with it, once the frame is cut, seat bucket is cut and the runner panels cut it will look better. But the plan is to mould the panels together rather than on top. O yeah, I am reinventing nearly every pan? Gimme a idea for vents n I'll do it, that's the only one apart from ignition inner that isn't getting customised. Might do a fibreglass mould of the ignition panels as they are crap plastic.

Yeah that aerox is nice, bit square for the rear as it is a curvy bike though but don't look too bad.

Yeah that's my bro, pretty good name lol. He will be helping me with the runner throughout. I bought him COD for helping me with the VX lol as an insentive, so will help me with this runner
