Just sounds like another kid trying to prove he's got the fasted ped out of his mates. Or he's just chatting crap (About the 172). Only way people learn is a fat ban lol. I almost got one myself. Definitely sorted me out lol.

i have a mate who got an 8 week ban..
long story cut short - followed by an undercover with another mate, he pulled a wheelie, they zoomed their camera in and followed him, he started standing on his seat and weaving through traffic and doing endo's at lights and shit light that, they took it to magistrates for dangerous driving and hes banned.
8 weeks sounds light but bear in mind thats over summer, and being sixteen we have like an 8 week summer and he cant ride for any of it.

I may not be riding this summer at this rate :( Bet your mate is bummed right out. We have a giant abandoned car park not far from me so we use there haha. Police don't seem to care round here aslong as we're not doing it on the roads :)

    damn, how come?
yeah he was but in one way, he kind of deserved it. he was either gunna get killed or banned in the end, so atleast it wasnt the first one.
police are okay about speed around here, they just let you off, but you cant be riding like a dick

damn, you lucky bastard! haha! ;) yeah they should have sectioned off road bits where you can take peds for stunting, mini moto's, attempt to drive, etc. its all good practice really no harm will come of it unless its your own fault

You're telling him to not to put a 125 engine reg as a 50 because he could get caught? The only way you would probably get caught is via traffic police. Normal police won't know shit, just the basic stop and basic checks ( insurance ). Most people have more than a 50cc engine at 60, for example a 70cc, if you got caught it'll be the same consequences as having a 172. Am I wrong?

Yeah he might get away with it. But what about when he comes to do a m.o.t and it says 50cc.... Wow that engines a lot bigger. 70cc looks the same size as a 50. If he hits another car his insurance is invalid. Then there's the butchering the bike to make it fit.... Why are people so impatient.

M.O.T can be passed 80% of the time. The insurance will be invalid, he doesn't have to do it through the insurance? Anyway its up to him really.

spot on. youd struggle to get away with a 125. no mechanic, unless he is blind or dumb, would look at a 125 engine and say 'well that looks roughly 50cc'
but even police wouldnt be able to tell exactly the size of a fifty cc.
infact, stage 6 even sell 70 kits with 49cc written on the bore. why? cause then you get away with it, the size difference is minimal when compared to a 125 engine.

your avarage police man can not look at a typh and go @ye thats a 125 engine@ 99% of you couldsent tell the difference between an aerox 50 and 125 engine... and you all own scooters

facts arew facts tho, yes you will probably get away wiht it like everyone else who's done it and yes its just as illegal as fitting a 70 kit at 16.. but the law is the law and if you choose to break it its up to you.. we as a site can not condone illegal riding/registration/modification/insurance FRAUD (yes its fraud, have a crash, get paid out, then get discoverd and you can get 20 years) ride at your own risk. stay legal.

Disrespectful much. Why don't you get off your high horse of "fuck the police and the law" and just do this right. If you're 16 then 17 isnt long as the people on here have said; it is doable but you must be able to live with the consequences of if you get caught. Just wait till your're 17 and get a 125 that was built to be a 125 not a bodge job. It seems more trouble and money than its worth. As someone said on this thread if you get pulled by traffic cops they will get you; trust me they are really clued up and will do you for anything. Stick with the 50 in my opinion
