pmsl he got insured for £400... how the fuck... and dude... you think a 17 year old.... driving a 1.9/2.0 is goin to be between 1k and 2k..... my insurance on a 1.4 escort 94 plate is £1400 a year.... and bEN insurance is around the same for a 1.1.... and we are both 18/19... everything matters...age/gender/year of the car/job/make... the fact you will be a 17 year old male... thats just passed his test....gota be at least over 2k and why u want a 2.0.... why do u want to go that fast when you have just passed.... i mean i drove my mums 1.6 fuel injected rover and it was seriously quick... if u want to go that quick get a bike...2 speeding tickets your fucked... plus it will drink fuel....at the end of the day a car will get you from A to B.... your not goin to go over 30/40mph around town areas.... who cares if the car gets there an extra 2 seconds.. a 1.2 will easly go 90mph... not that its even legal to go that fast anyways.. (oh btw for my car and insurance its cost me £1800 and i love my 1.4... decent speed and good on fuel) (ohh last thing if u DO get a 2.0 get insured using your mums no claims bonus ive just done it and now instead of paying £140 a month i pay £60 :bird: )
i agree, you got your sights set way too high, what are you planning to do with a 2.0 litre car? no one gets that as their first car, its rediculous and between 1k and 2k is what you'd look at for a 1.2-1.4, 2.0 is gonna be either uninsurable or over 3k my mates getting insured on a 1.8 golf mk2 as his first car, his insurance is 2600+ and we live in a quiet sort of area. dont be silly mate, get a little hatchback but about 1.2 - 1.4, why do you want a big 2.0 anyway? are you made of money for fuel etc?
lol I was thinking about getting a small car thats been shagged when im 17, just incase i need it one day when im 17 to drop the engine off/ pick up the engine from a garage workshop far away, or collect parts that are very far, now and again for my 125 when im 17 get a bargain car from the freeads - £100 lol like 20 million miles, that way then you wont be scared to wrap it up when your learning to drive i fancy getting a 800cc motor (0.8L!) my mum told me to get a daiwoo matiz - HAHAHA!! lol no way i said, im getting a shitty micra to scum about in, cars are only good for carrying things thats too big for a ped, or when its really pissing it down
just get insure on your dads or mums policy and have you as a named driver, take advantage of their no claims
sister just got a decent 5 year old rover 25 (same with diff bumpers) for way less than that with only 2 owners, full service and less than 50,000 miles on it. there are bargians to be found
thats true rover 25s are very very simular to an mg...just a few details and the colours... i love the mg blue.... my mum got her rover 25 for like £700....proper good condition and is a pretty fast 1.6 fuel injected...
