i have to agree, gonna be a GOOD year this time, been saying it for 2 years but we ARE gonna have a crowd about... well, if everyone else sorts there shit out. ima deffo be there as much as poss for a sarnie ala dwarf (if you'r sharing the contence of the magic coolbox that is) ha ha ha more people should try.. will appreciate the work that go's into doing an engine.. also thge more people talk the more others learn. ROLL ON SUMMER
thanks for all the input lads. ye should be a good laugh if we get a few from the forum going up n meeting person to person. have a blaze a drink n race some bikes. sounds like a good weekend to me lol. anyway ill improve on the barrel when time allows and post some more pics up. gonna put the cases in the dish washer tmoz (cheers minor for the tip) when mums out.
looking good dys ill be doing my own porting soon as i have a spare 172. and i might just have to bring a bike or two down to pod this year
looking at being there also, and yea its been said already but its a FOOKING LUSH feeling when you start a engine youve just stripped and ported yourself, and its stronger, faster and more powerfull than before!! unk:
Gotta agree with ya there, alot of people on this site are trying it out, well good to see it happening n wish the best for em all for risking it unk:
i didnt have enough for a dremel after i bought my parts this week but soon im gonna get a new crank and some porting done on a new barrel imp: i wanna get down to pod this summer aswell.
thats ghetto as fuck haha! love it si work looks good, pictures are quite hard to see but is the bridge in the transfer feed slightly blocking flow from the cases? looks like you need to pinch the edges in a bit more to make it less curved if that makes sense
when you porting cases, do you grind the case back so that the transfer matches the case? I'm thinking of doing it to my rg, just purchased a spare set of cases so trying to gather as much info as possible before I touch it
ye thats what ive been doing gamma boi. ye fully thugged out worrkstation. booom. thort ud all love it :w00t:
feed angle is also wrong, its to the right point, but totally wrong direction.. wish id got pics of mine done, couldent see the join
i just got a ac mhr rep70 and if my measuments are correct??? exhaust 22mm, 2 exhaust secon feeds? 24mm, main and boost 32mm from top am, one of the boost ports has slight damage to the bottom (a chip going down 1.5mm maybe a big problem) also has anyone got the map for a corsa, MHR (not rep), evo, would be usefull as i lost my map for a corsa
erm... the corsa is the same as the sport with a slightly wider exhaust, transfers are @ 30.5 (if i remember right) an the exhaust port is up from 23 up to 21mm (can go 19/ with 20 on the edges..)
that map looks verry familuar MUHAHAHA but ye, your boost port will be fine providing there are no raised sections, chips and missing sections are only of any real problem when there on the ring stop area, even then the boost port doesent actually need a bottom, none of the transfers do. just MAKE SURe any chips/ports have a chamfer to stop them acting as a scraper on the piston/rings.. this alone means a dead barrel/piston in no time atall
