yeah worked fine, even after the accident, i jumped straight back on it and the elctric start worked fine, as did the brake lights and indicators but obviously couldnt get very far as thats when i realised the throttle cable was snapped
yeah thats my next step to be honest, i will have to wait until i get paid as funds are a bit tight st this time of year after crimbo and that, thanks for all your help today really appreciate it
It's OK. My spare battery is just sitting on the kitchen window-sill if you want to try it or even borrow it until you get a new one. It's up to you.
thats really nice of you, thank you very much, could try it i guess, at least i'll know for sure if that is the problem. are you on fb? add me Donna Cairney
Erm, there's quite a few... which one? If you like Scooter Shack on fb you'll find me - my name is David.
ive liked scooter shack but could find a David, and im probs the top one, short hair, head in my hands and tattoo of a cross and roseary beads on my left hand and birth mark on my right
We're going to try my spare battery on Donna's machine tomorrow - stay tuned for the next instalment lol
Well I drive over to Donna's this morning and took a look at her bike and her battery is OK, the fuse is OK, 12v is getting past the fuse but is not arriving at the ignition switch. I did find one block connector unplugged inside the front panel and reconnecting that has the brake lights working again. What has stumped me for now is that I can't see any block connectors after the blue one that connects the ignition switch and testing the switch with a voltmeter shows that earth is OK but 12v live is not, so I'm scratching my head as to why the 12v feed has gone missing. The horn, indicators and starter are all not working at the moment and I reckon it's down to the missing 12v feed but there's nowhere that I can see where it could become disconnected from the loom. The damage from the fall to Donna's bike isn't severe and certainly not enough to damage the loom behind the panels. I've read in a few places that the V-Click is a rebranded Baotian Pulse scooter; can anyone confirm this?
I might have found something here. If the V-Click is a rebranded Baotian scooter, then it apparently has an anti-theft alarm fitted to it. Check this booklet out, the Baotian does look remarkably similar to the V-Click:- http://www.jungin.se/sites/default/files/BT49QT-9O USER MANUAL.pdf The horn, ignition switch and indicators all connect to this alarm box and it's the only thing that I can think of that might have failed to cause the issue that you have, Donna. It's possible that the bike falling has triggered the alarm box somehow. I'm not sure if this alarm is a remote or automatic one. Did your bike come with a key fob for the alarm, to be able to arm and disarm it? If it did, then try clicking the fob and see if the bike responds.
hey Dave, thank you so much for today, the fuel gauge and horn are now working also so just the electric start and indicators that arent, and no didn't come with a fob. just glad i go the brake lights, horn and fuel gauge back, baby steps lol
i have no idea, i didnt check the fuel gauge or the horn earlier but i noticed when i went back out to put the bike back together and started it up and started pressing buttons and then the horn worked and then i noticed the fuel gauge worked too, thanks again
Try it out on a run tomorrow and the gremlins in the indicators might just go away. It must be something to do with that block connector that wasn't properly put together that I spotted earlier today. Maybe the contacts were dirty or something and they have fixed themselves. Peugeot electrics are a law unto themselves at times; my 1007 spits it's dummy out and refuses to run properly every time it rains heavily. Dodgy electrics are part and parcel of most French and Italian cars these days.
i can confirm that the vclic is made in china under licence by peugeot, couldnt tell you what factory, but im betting its the same as a whole load of other bikes, ive never seen one with any kind of anti theft (i work for a peugeot main dealer). had a few electric problems with various models but no problems with the vclic yet. the ignition switch rusting internally can give some wierd problems
What was missing when I checked it earlier was the live feed to the ignition switch (red wire). I could get a circuit between battery live and the black wire, but I got nothing between the battery negative and the red feed to the ignition switch, no matter what key position was used. I'd expect live in/live out from the ignition switch and it didn't seem to be happening. I'm basing my experience on the wiring of my Trekker Off-Road, so there may be subtle differences in wiring because as far as I am aware, the Trekker/TKR was built in France. My guess is that it's the Baotian factory in China, as the V-Click looks to much like the Baotian Pulse scooter for it to be a coincidence. Maybe a run over some distance, to shake the bike down, may just get the remaining dodgy connections working.
