Hello all hop you are all ok I have a piaggio zip sp 70cc it is really hard to get started like it will take about 20 kicks sometimes double that to get it fired up also have to have the throttle fully open. But when started it will run great with no problems at all but then when the bike is turned off it will take even logger to start sometimes it want unless you leave it for about 30mims but then it will start again after about 20 kicks off the kick start sometimes it will start on the electric start but its will flatten the battery. I have cleaned the carb out Checked the reed vavle that's fine Replaced the spark plug Drive belt is fine Parts that's are fitted are PM TUNING 70 KIT 17.5 CARB WITH 80 MAIN JET WITH STANDARD AIR BOX STAGE 6 EXHAUST 3.5G ROLLERS POLINI CRANK ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT GUYS AS STARTING TO DO MY HEADING NOW CHEERS
Probably need to up the pilot jet size. Not the main. Buy the pilot jet pack. 10 jets in it. Need to know your size first then go up from there.
You should find this interesting reading, it explains a lot. http://www.scootershack.co.uk/threads/carbs-explained.11967/ Have a trawl through the threads or do a search on here for jetting; there is loads of stuff and you aint the only one who has these problems.
ok nice one mate i have been looking all day there is a few poeple on here with zip that have the same problem as me lol when its started it runs great but its really really hard to get started up sometime want really want to get it sorted haha
Yer was think that am gunna put my mates on off a runner and see if its that lol I did disconnect the auto choke but still no look getting it started
Yer that's what I was thinking lol gunna just use his carb the full lot and if its that am gunna buy a new carb
Not really just gunna put my jet into it, i just wanna see if it starts if it dose then I know my carb/choke has had it want be riding it or owt
Wont work right. Putting your jet into his carb wont change a thing. He may well have a different size pilot jet as well to yours. Try just changing the chokes over instead, they should be the same.
well it will work. 99% of after market bikes dont have any carb set up other that a main jet change and 75% of them work fine
