piaggio zip derestriction help!

ive recently bought a piaggio zip 2t that has been derestricted and upjetted to a size 66. However, it only does about 35mph on a flat. i dont know how it has been derestricted already but i would like it to do at least 40-45 mph on a flat, what would i have to do to get to this speed?

If it's been De restricted it should hit those speeds easy, has it had anything else done like sports exhaust etc

 

no its completely standard. i was thinking that only the restrictor washer in ther variator has been taken out and nothing else. could this be the case?

i dont know. the bloke i bought it off said it has been derestricted but i dont know how he has done this. I was guessing the washer has been taken out of the variator because it hasnt made a huge improvemnt than if it was restricted

 

then i dont see why its going so slow :/

your jet sounds to big , standard jet is 53 and when you derestrict your exhaust you only go up in two sizes so 55 in your case , and you can check if your pipe is de restricted by taking it off and see if there is the washer welded in

 

i havnt gotten around to seeing what derestriction has taken place yet, from the sound of it what one would you think has been done so i can know where to start

 

as Edgar said your jets way to big and check the exhaust too
and check the variator too

mines the same took the washer out de restricted the exhaust, and it can only manage 42mph flat out people say its down to the small carb on mine as its a mk1 zip , my friends aircooled zip standard exhaust standard jet standard rollers , and it wheelies really easy and does 55mph and setting of its another world compared to mine
