Hi all me again looking for more out of the zip 125 engine
Would the gilera runner vx barrel and cylinder head lc work as a direct replacement
Yes I would need rads and fan /water pump
But just want to know if would work as the 4v head would give better performance
    Thanks

If I recall the crankcase is a little different.
And the LC 4v head has a bigger intake and carb.

Thanks for reply found a blog on modern vespa
Zip 125 ac to 200cc lc conversion
It was pretty much a straight swap apart from timing chain and cdi
And water pump.im going down the electric water pump route (less hassle)
Took engine out of bike today just waiting for my 180 runner cylinder head and barrel to arrive then mock it up
    C how it goes
From what I've read and seen it 100percent
    Works
    And the gains are good
    Easy conversion
    Thanks

I did it the other way round air cooled motor in a vx. I remember it was pretty much a straight swap, except the single shock and drum brake thing.
Wow that was a lifetime ago though.

Why does the cdi need swapping? Aren't they the same ignition advance curve?

    Th
Il be only changing the cylinder head and barrel with piston to lc
Far better performance. Didn't want to do an engine swap as frame and engine numbers match logbook
Which is very rare for a 2001 zip 125
But has only done about 10000miles
    Verified by DVLA mot check
As for cdi I'm not 100 percent sure to be honest when all together il check that it all timed up right (piston not gonna smash me valves up )
    Done it before being inpatient
Then turn her over see what happens
Parts should be here by Tuesday so il let you know
    Wednesday / Thursday
    Thanks

    Ah yeah.
Will be cool to see the outcome.
I guess the timing chain is a little longer on the lc motors?
Can you mount the water pump anywhere? Or is it quite a big unit that needs to be bolted down to the motor?

Once parts arrive il put up some pics
