have just ordered a motoforce torque spring set as the stage 6 hard ones are out of stock :(, but im going to alter the variator and balance the weights to the clutch as the transmission side of my bike is standard apart from the malossi belt as far as i know. :) this wont happen anytime soon as the bloke who is going to help me is away on the weekends for the next 2 so it wont be this weekend or the following one it will be the one after :( apperantly that will make a huge difference. can anyone recommend a decent clutch and variator to go with the torque spring?

soo small update got a polini variator kit and some strong torque springs hopefully being fitted next week, booked it in for the new tyre next week and im doing front pads this weekend so should be all up together again soon... just feel as if ive neglected it abit the past couple of weeks. there is one slight problem with it when going at like 30 and you let off on the throttle it makes a funny crunching noise sounds a bit like the starter motor but i cant see it being that any ideas on what it could be cheers.

is it a massive difference you notice when you change the variators and torque spring?

Mate did u say ur running a mallossi 70's and sports pipe on standard clutch, variator and belt? You need uprated all of these or you are asking for trouble.. I have same kit but with stage 6 clutch, clutch bell, variator, drive belt, drive face and air filter. Also, the piaggio engines rev out at about 1000rpm higher than other engines, and the mallossi revs out higher again!. So 7hp is low compared to what u should have on an nrg, (about 10-11 on air cooled) If u need any advice feel free to ask :)

its not a malossi its an athena its all standard trans apart from malossi belt, having the clutch variator torque spring and bell changed next weekend, so wont be to high risk for long:)

fitted my polini variator with 7g rollers and hard torque spring. goes so much better in the mid range but i want it to wheelie when pulling away it just seems like its not wanting to pull away as quick :( any recomendations on getting one to pull away quicker?? and the ticking noise is doing my head in if i ride at 50 then let off it makes this horrible grinding noise until you touch the throttle again but it does stop after about 5 seconds. any ideas on what this is? please help!

if you want a nice pull at start you should put lighter rollers... :) about 5,5g- 6.0g or 6,5...
