HI, i just turned 16 and just bought a 2008 nrg for £550 on ebay and im pretty sure its still resrticted, i have read through the forum but i still dont have a solid idea... i want to tune the moped so it hits around 60mph...im aware i could possibly do this by upgrading to a 70cc bore kit and a sports pipe. can i do anything else? when change the pipe and bore kit do i need to change the 'rollers' or 'upjet' it or anything like that? whats the best order to tune the ped, pipe first then bore kit....blah blah blah. also if i change the pipe would there still be any restrictions on the bike or in the sports pipe? if i do this tuning will the moped still pass its mot as a 50cc? i will be working on it myself although a family friend is a mechanic but i would like to do this independently and learn my way around the bike so take it easy on me lol . any helpful replys will be much appriciated, thanks :)

i wouldnt bother with the 70 kit yet i would buy a leo-vince zx or something simlar change clutch springs and rollers , up-jet carb , and make sure the restrictor is removed from the variator and a mallossi airfilter insert

leo-vince around £120 comes with springs and rollers
    mallossi £5
jets few quid each and it will need up-jetting 10-15% over standard

all easy to do and wont take to long

no carb woulldnt but take you carb apart and find out what jet sizit has and add 10-15% to that number and get a new jet that sizee

do you know if its a DT or DD model, the DT is air and the DD is water

this is all good news for me too, i have a leo vince zx and up jets (presume springs and rollers too) and presume it will have had the variator done

might be worth getting the leo vince welded up and stuck back on then. and ill whip open the air filter and see whats in there

ill have an ask about see how much, id rather spend 10-15 quid on welding than 100 on a new one
