Doesnt look like he listed the car reg number on ebay. That sets alarm bells ringing without knowing anything of this thread. Add to that the low number of buy/sells on the account.

If it was me, id steer clear.

As for the OP, i'd make one more attempt to sort it out. If not hand it off to the police, along with what times you talked to him on the phone, the bank account number, and any other correspondance youve had with him. Maybe they will do something, maybe they wont (but regardless it will get added to an intelligence log, so if it happens to someone else, they will see it happened to you previously). If they dont then chock it up to experience. Its an expensive mistake, but you will only make it once.

 

The parts were relisted the next day on gumtree, i now have his address, bank details, 3 different phone numbers, two of which he doesn't answer and the one he does answer he will make up some excuse to not talk and when i try ring back he wont answer. He rarely replies on here.. the police are investigating it as the parts have been relisted and it looks as though he might be trying to scam someone else.

 

if you have all those details dont give up, get police to go around to his. they will do this i know from experience.

 

Call me paranoid but do you lot genuinely reckon there are people going round hacking Scootershack accounts in the hope of scamming people for exhausts? Seems a bit convenient?

same here. I bought some panels from ebay and paid via cheque. The panels never arrived so I tried coms but loads of promises and still no goods. Finally took all the details to the cops along with proof of phone calls, emails and payment details. ...still no panels!
So the cops went around AGAIN and took him to the post office to make sure he sent them. They were shit when they arrived and no where near as good as advertized....but I got the goods in the end

if he lives missions away, cant you organise a little road trip with a mate with a car? and just get it sorted that day like, i wouldnt like to be pissed about for 120 quid......my old mate in my bedroom got a broken nose coz he owed my mate a tenner. but it was over weed so rather dumb and sad....

i had practically the same happen to me over £150. person arrested and interviewd. so you can get joy. why should you give up without trying.

 

oh okay, thats 1 lol.... doesnt account for the other millions of dirty pigs who dont do their jobs properly.

because i have a record they took 3 hours to get to my house over some little bitch who smashed my conservatory window.. even though theyre station is 2mins away in my high street !...another case i had some kids hanging round my car, so my mum phoned then, as i was out, she phoned me, i came back , it took me about an hour to get back from where i was, and they still hadnt been. but when they want me, its bless to blast into my room at 7 in the fkin morning.

rant over..... never said he should give up trying, but give up with police because they wont show interest over something like this, theyd rather spend time arresting people over spliffs lool....

best option, is if you know his address... road trip to bradford... and see where it goes from there.... if you feel like this, take a policeman to his house with you

Still no joy.. last night had a phone call from him to let me know he's down the pub having a drink with all his mates all on me!. Definately gonna try arrange a road trip up there and the police have been informed but haven't heard any news
