interesting question. I would have said no. But that was before this weekend. As I said- I have never encountered a problem before. But if you get a grey plug and no amount of upjetting will solve it, then you can be pretty sure that it's an oil issue and it's time to go pre- mix and remove the pump having emptied the fuel system & carb.
T he colour is more like pewter- and is different from a plug on a poor scoot (which is whiter). Any problems, upjet, and then look at your plug. And no full throttle when you test. Half way is enough.

100:1 is 50ml oil to 5 litres of fuel.

Thanks mate that's brilliant, so 100:1 is really starving it of oil!

OK, back up a bit, I don't think you're quite getting this.

What I'm suggesting is add 50ml per 5 litres extra oil to the fuel and leave the oil pump set at 3%, so your bike is getting 4% overall and you don't need to adjust the oil pump. Does that explain it better?

These sports 70cc kits are used on bikes right up to racing level to the manufacturers have to play it safe and cater for the worst possible case, i.e. track racing. That's why they give the advice they do in the instructions, so that the bike doesn't seize on the track. Your bike may not need so much oil as it's not in such a high state of tune.

    Got it now?

Oh extra! I thought you meant do away with the pump and run the pre mix with just 100:1 lol

Erm, I think you might want to get your Dad or someone mechanically qualified to supervise you while you do this, if you are having difficulty following instructions. If you don't know or understand what you are doing, you could end up with a lot of expensive broken bits. I kid you not.

Nah I'm alright you just didn't explain anything properly, I wasn't going to run it on that rich a mixture that's why I didn't understand what you meant

Either 4% premixed and no oil pump, or 50ml to 5 litres of fuel with the oil pump. That's as simple as I can make it.

My exhaust isn't dripping anymore btw. I think it was dripping because i was in the process of 'bedding' in the piston ring and the cylinder was just not hot enough to burn all the oil, so the excess got out from the exhaust. Now that run with an open-air filter and a jet of 115 ( Maybe i'll change to 120) , and still adding oil to the fuel by a ratio of 1:60 while still using the standard oil pump it does not drip. Note that i drive quite fast in the city so it gets quite hot, and therefore burns the oil. That's the reason I've come up with.
