gear plate is easy, if your unsure, you shouldent be rebuilding it, its common sence.

diff belts are used by moving the spacer OR using diff diameter rollers.. (nothings to say you cant respace the variator completly and use WAY different diameter rollers mind)
running a shorter ratio transmission (belt too short, spaced wrong or wrong rollers) will give you a loss.. BUT this loss could be excess gearing. so theoretically your removing scope from your transmission, on the other hand your actually actuating the torque drive at a diff rate giving a diff torque curve, meaning you could space the variator forward, run the short belt and bang in really long gears, you will loose some of the top from the belt, you shouldent really loose any bottom as its BEARLY on the bottom of the ramp for long anyway (plus a shorter ratio can mean loss aswell as gain remember, having the lowest gear isnt always good, especially if your gearing for a certian requirement)

all im sayin is, for MAX performance CORRECT fitment isnt ALWAYS the best way to go..

power comes from the cylinder and pipe. the transmission is FAR more complicated and has SO MUCH scope simply down to the infinate variables and how you can play wiht them.. my 50 for instance a piaggio authorised dealer would laugh at and probably snigger somthing like "what pikey put this together for you laddy" but what do they know? thas it, the correct way, not the fast way ;) (ye my variators totally moved, belts diff length, rollers now machined, ramps machined, backplate modded, clutch re spaced (playing wiht a bigger from a newer moddle, mabey the rear and a torque drive if i can be botherd to spend more,) totally wrong, every bit of it, but it works.. an works WEL it do)

too add... ive always said a dyno will give you a peice of paper, and on that dyno your bike will be perfect, ive never had a bike/car come off a dyno/rolling road and me NOT play wiht it.. there is one way to test your work, timed sprints over a set distance,

drag racing started as exactly this.. car workers, playin wiht there cars an racin there own time to see if they made it better or worse, then a bunch of people did it, then somone thought "fuck it, ima buy a runway an let people do this all day"

TEST your scoots yourselves... time yourself down a road. change somthing, if it feels faster, go see if it ACTUALLY is or if it just feels faster, as alot of things feel faster when there not. like the revs goin silly from light rollers.. tis not fast. just seems it.

i thort that was the reason of drag raceing to see if you made it faster or slower
i think koso or someone do some kind of lil bar mounted distance timer thing. personally i use the bypass near me lol bit long tho
