Was this a good idea, looks alot better IMO but unsure if i can cause engine damage / leaning of mixture by putting a larger diameter can on the end of the pipe.

nope.. the stinger (rear section of the exhaust) has been cut down for this.. but the can is effectivly lenghening the pipes stinger length.. basicly an exhaust is desighned without a can (in most cases) a bike runs best wihtout the can on (unless the can IS the stinger) putting a can on a bike will lengthen the effective stinger length and just shift's power about (usually less top and more bottom) wont affect the jetting really, unless the old can wasent a straight can. do a full throttle run wiht a new plug, turn the bike off at the top of 1st gear holding full throttle untill you come to a stop. then whip the plug and look for a little ring at the bottom of the plug. this should be chocolate brown... even buiscit brown is not good for a 2 stroke, its tgoo lean,. setting carbs uop in summer WILL mean its lean in winter so over do it a little (go up one size more than it needs) then you wont have to rejet for night time riding/winter

    Cheers,
Top end is still the same speed wise (90 Clock speed) But it seems like it doesnt pull from 7-10k rpm as much as it used too, or may even be me being paranoid as the can is alot louder.

Ive thought about welding some more tube to the pipe same diameter and put it inside the can?

    Thanks for the advice :)

if the internal diameter of the can differs then yes it will affect power drasticly.. your basicly changing the effective dimention of the exhaust... you can lengthen and shorten the can but the diameter has to stay constant..

strip the can itself and use the same diameter baffel tube as the original.
