http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... &rd=1&rd=1 Its an RD 350 YPVS, all the parts are there to put it back together (apart from the screen and lower fairings) hopefully picking up on saturday :w00t:
good on ya m8, lovely choice of bike there but i VERRYMUCH doubt all the bits are there (could be wrong tho) main thing is check the crank bearings as a new crank is like rocking horse shit
yup, lucky for me i know of 2 spares locally. it will have a full strip and rebuild as a matter of course anyway. always wanted an lc.
ye man, ive always wanted a nice one, there was one at my college with less than 8k on the clock.. wouldent sell it to me nomatter what i offerd (even offerd 3g at one point just to see) lets hope it gets done ay
right, picked the bike up today, turns out the seat and oil tank are missing too and it will need a new rear shock and a ew other bits. turned the motor over and did a basic inger-over plughole trick and compression is down so i have given my engine to my local RD expert (a good friend) and he is stripping it tommorrow to let me know what is needed to get it running sweet again (could be running by friday as he has most spares in stock). Chassis wise, the bike is pretty good, freshly powdercoated purple/blue frame, powdercoated white wheels and brand new continental tyres. bodywork looks ok, gloss black. everything is covered in dust but it looks ok. pictures to follow tomorrow.
quick update, today i have stripped the top-end, the motor needs a few powervalve parts, a re-bore and new pistons, whilst it's apart i'm having the crank rebuilt with new con-rods and big-end bearings along with main bearings and a full seal kit.
Today's progress: basically i have started cleaning up and polishing the right rearset and rear footpeg. more work to do but it's getting there. also started stripping the paint from the end cans to polish them again.
Update, well it's been a while since i could update becuase the usual cash problems occurred but today i have got a new seat for the beast and I won a pair of side pannels off fleaBay last night: I have a promise that the bottom-end will be done this week. still need powervalves before the top-end gets done.
Ok, thought it was time for an update, still waiting on the engine wish i'd done it myself but never mind. been to an auto jumble today and picked up a nice f reg RD350 F2, fully faired, 11,000 miles on the clocks (doubt they are right), green frame and wheels, micron pipoes, they look almost mint, billet front calipers, absolutely pristine. sounds sweet and got it for a smidgin over £700. pics to follow on tuesday when i pick the beast up.
