u got it frainey..thing is they come in small engines and just do em up yourself with your own ideas etc..better then spending 5k on a smart car looking thing..
LOL some bloke threw a drink at me out of a car similar to that today as i filtered past him in traffic, fucking chav so i went round the block quickly, filtered again and smashed his wing mirror off.
his insurance wont be much as its a small litre, it'll be pretty low as it will be book price anyway! and cause its not that common it will be dirt cheap, good fuel consumption, perfect car... id get one if i had the cash!
renault 5 ftw get a campus and do a turbo replica for the thugs.. would never spend 5 k on a 1st car and i promise u will get bored of it when all ya mates are doing theres up etc..its up 2 u mate its ur cash..but i would skan ebay and see what u can pick up for about a grand
If that toyota has been built like the ones where i work it'll fall to bits your lucky, sell it. piss your parents off. buy bike. ftw.
ignore all this advice get something with 2 wheels because all that will happen is you will end up going round ikea at the weekend with some tart buying cushions then taking your kids everywhere because your now a taxi . yes i,m old and bitter :bird:
The problem with modern cars like that is you can't really work on it yourself, if anything goes wrong it's a trip off the to stealers who throw new parts at it until it works = £££££ Take your 5k. Stick 4k in a high interest account/premium bonds etc Spend 1k tops on a bike or cheap car Older cars you can bash, bend, and weld back into shape. Plenty of the same model in breakers to get cheap parts from, and you can get wheels & tyres for like a fiver each from the scrappies to keep you going In a few years time your 4k will have grown, espicially if you keep topping it up. You'll then be able to afford a bigger car/deposit for house or w/e
in my oppinion all your paying for here is a number plate with an '07' on it... has it got pas, electric windows, half a million airbags, a computer onboard that tells you the time, date, what tempreture it is inside and outside the car, central locking, and all the other gizmo's you get from a modern car? from what i know these cars are built as a cheap hatchback, you could get a 3 year old corsa with the full lot of optional extras for the same price, and it wont deprechiate as much but if i was given 5k for a car it would be either a 2.8 vr6 powered mk2 golf or a red top corsa (been in a 2.0 16v corsa and the acceleration is fucking awesome :msn1: ) sam
I've just bought a car off of begay for £500. its a mx3 1.8i v6 looks good sounds good and handles great. its not worth getting a £5k car as your first.
Buy a car from the range of £1-2k and spend the rest on any work that needs doing and to pay off insurance mate. Really not worth payin 5k for that specially as your first car as something will go wrong with it and cost you a bomb.
