You will lose wheelie power after fitting a gear-up, and the turbo whine you hear is from the gears. Straight cut gears are the worst for it, however saying that, I fitted the new 15/38 Malossi gear-up to my zip, and it had no whine. But, after fitting that kit I also lost my great acceleration, so got it back by playing with slightly lighter rollers. I had 4.59gr before the kit, and after I had 4.0gr. Also had to change the clutch springs for stronger ones to allow the engine to get into the powerband before take-off. Still no great wheelie action but the acceleration was back and constant.

I run a very similar set up and when I replaced the clutch with the heavier springs it lost top end speed and was at half throttle before take off. It's adjustable so I back the springs off and now it's spot on. I've got 4g rollers in mine btw.

Just thought id mention i had my bike setup by scooter tech bristol and he did and absolute shoddy job, yeah he might have set the clutch and carb up correctly.but after going to him and saying that bike is backfiring and cuts out and high revs it still does it.
Yeah it might i only be at top speed but its damn annoying. Also which is even worse when i got back from the garage i thought i would check to see what he had done,Because he said he had put new rollers in and polini foam in air filter and re jetted (Costing me 150.00).So first of all the engine case bolts were loose and some almost all the way out,the air box wasn't even attached to the carb so it could of seizedsucking in all that air, then when i took the engine case of my front pulley was lose and not tightened all the way.
I mean no wonder it was screaming to pull off.i tightened it and now it doesn't rev really high before pulling away.Don't think i'll use him again (plus he talked so much bullshit)

phoned a decent garage that i know are good and told them After having the throttle all the way open for a long stretch of road my bike starts to struggle, the exhaust backfires and if keep throttle open it sometimes kicks back in at low speeds or it cuts out completely.I have spoke to a garage and they say its probably an electrical fault and not worth the time or money trying to fix.

Simple enough to whip the pins out both sides of the connector block and either clean or replace them. Or replace the block completely with a weatherproof one.
