Malaguti progress

So all the bits have arrived, I have heard very very good thing about the benefits of the multivar system so I went the full hog new belt and clutch too

 

Cant go wrong there.
I seem to recall they did a whole kit once upon a time, belt, vario, clutch springs etc. Overdrive was it? Overrange?

 

Yeah I remember! I got the whole kit for a typhoon many years ago but they don’t seem to do it any more... so settled for what I have there

 

Fitted the multivar system complete kit.....what a difference!! I had flat spots between 20mph and 35mph before it has ironed out those very nicely and acceleration is very much improved worth any penny and I recommend it to any one with a 50cc motor

Found this nicer shape side cover, so given it paint

Kick start mechanism reassembled and I found a original set of stickers for the bike so used one here

Any tips on spraying the cv cover ? My ones got chrome all pitted and peeling so need to spray so bad.

 

Yea sure, depends on the finish you want if you want it like a mirror your need to spray and wet sand ect ect.... what you see there above is just hammerite smooth black I just made sure i got the cover super smooth first with very fine sand paper then tack cloth, two light mists of spray then 20 mins later I put down two layers wet then when it was fully hard I gave it a good polish

 

Thats cool. Im not botheeed if its shiny or not. It just looks horrible at the minute with all the chrome paint bubbled and peeling lol
