new shed and tools
new bike

heres the problem i been looking around and want to buy a new bike want it to be a 50cc heres the ones ive narrowed it down to

yamaha aerox which i really like just dont no a lot about them

aprilia sr 50

piaggio nrg

i want to buy a aerox how much should i pay for a half decent one and what are there engines like for tuning and whats the handling like

sorry about the long storey

any information on them 3 bikes is much appreciated

thanks :]

the aerox is good for tuning and so are the other two as long as they are the piggy engines. i would choose the nrg ,as its alot easier to fit a 70 kit etc

parts are slighlty cheaper, and they handle well

and they are light lol

right depending on nthe year of the sr50 its more than likely gona have a piaggio or minarelli engine

nrg is obviously piaggio and aerox is minarelli

performance parts for each, price wise are the same and give similar results

and aerox's handle well, along with new shape sr's not too sure on the older shape ones tho and nrgs well imo are shite handling wise

if looking at older shape nrgs 2000-2004 then bout 600 has gota be your limit price and there well known for bad condition forks an rear shocks so if you want a good one then check the forks

the older shape sr's 2000-2004 you wana look at a limit of 700 really and the forks are normally pretty good on them but check panel condition as they have loads

on aeroxs the limit is probs bout 800 really and there normally kept in fair nick, but there are loads of cheap parts for them so it shouldnt be too much to buy replacements

youv'e got a piaggio so why not go for a minarelli sr or aerox, id get a cheap panel damaged aerox, with a good low mileage motor and buy sum goody parts from the euro sites and make it a looker, then stick a few engine goodies in there too

thanks mate thats very useful wobbly said stear clear of the nrgs as i will need to replace the forks everytime the mot is due lol so im going to give up on that one i do really like the aeroxs and you can get loads of styling parts for them so the aerox it must be :D
wobbly_trials#5
lol, it was a slight exxageration but the forks are the waek point on NRGs.
Nitro-Rhys#6

if youve got a zip 172 build why not spend money on that? no point buying a second 50cc bike really. what im getting at here is uve got 6k... why waste it?

keep it til your 17 and which way you going?? car or bike?

you could set aside £750 for a quick pass course, have your test done and dusted 2 weeks after your birthday and be riding a gsxr600 srad (going for around 2k) etc etc or a 1.3/1.6 car if that tickles your fancy :pimp:

failing that aerox ftw LOL
