My understanding is that if you reduce the engine size on a logbook, which is legal, you'll get called in for a VIC (Vehicle Identity Check) where they will go over the bike with a fine toothed comb, looking for irregularities.

The reason for this is that the larger the engine size, the more tax you pay.

If you try to do the Customs and Excise out of their money, they will rape you senseless.
