Hi everybody I’m new to this forum just picked up a typhoon 125 xr from 2003 it’s not starting and the carb looks like it’s been played with any suggestions as it’s been sitting in a shed for 8 years!!! The electrics work but carb looks like someone’s had a go at getting it started any suggestions will post more pics if need be thank you.
Replace fuel & vacumn pipes, check tyre condition for degradation, replace battery/change oils, lube all cables, uber check brake condition to start..
I owned one of these for 7 years had clocked 30.000 miles when I sold it. great bike they command a lot of money those typhoons. Drain the tank clean carb float bowl fresh fuel new plug that’ll fire rite up
I’ve tried to drain it completely and it still has petrol in the bottom of the tank I took out the fuel pipes etc but there still seems to be petrol in the tank
How comes there are 3 tubes one connected to the carb from airbox and one connected to the airbox which is in picture and then another one which is the breather pipe
See if it sparks, if it does, Spray some easy start in the carb and turn the key on and kick start it if it has one. It will work off the easy start if the engine is at least able to run. If it does run off easy start your carb is probably at fault and it'll save you hours of hassle and bother if the engine is no good anyway.
Want a step by step? I cant speak exactly for that bike, but ive done thousands of carbs over the years...
