Dissipating heat would be my biggest worry... Reason why i'd never do it on one of my engines unless it was stock. (l0lz)

i just bought heat resistant black paint to spray my engine

just gunna sand the case's down to key into it and then spray

i supose at the end of the day its up to you what you do with your cases most leave them standered
i wouldnt powdercoat it cause it does get pretty hot
    :good:

polishing probably is the best look with the least cons,

ht paint is usually matt, so dont go with gloss pans as well.

powder coating looks good, but is expensive to take a risk with....

cant go wrong with a good old polish tho i guess

Started it up for about 10mins at low revs then done the procedure for runing it in

the next day it wouldent start and i tried 3 carbs 21mm 20.5 28mm
none of them had any luck so i checked the cylinder to see if it was ok, it was fine thank god, i now think its excess 2T in the cases but cant flush it out without a kick start/elecy :(

pics of how it is standing now

now that ive read it properly its deffinatley the plug, get a new one should be fine.. this always happens to me when i fit a kit or whatever because of the 2stroke you rub all over the piston.

pressing it up isnt hard especially.... just messure the offset of the gear befor you do as some dont sit right down as youd think (just tell whoever it is doing it to messure the length sticking out the back)

pm clutch bells just kill clutches, waste of time/money, just have shiny do his wonders on your bell... far more exclusive :D (oh and it works LOL)

Minnors post has just put a fat smile on my face. Been doing some research today and came over a post...

""as for running a 172 on a stock pipe, yes, LOADS of them, don't be ignorant and assume nobody runs them, i LOVE stock pipes on 172's as again it lasts longer, doesent generate nearly the heat of a pm pipe and you get lots of power/torque at any rpm you like. more riudable/wheelyable and last forever.

one of my old typhoons was a 172/25mm carb/gears and crank on a stock runner pipe. pissed on most things, went up hills better than a piped up bike and generally returned bettere fuel econimy and i could ride it for hours on end. wheely machine...""

    :amen: :rotfl:

    Re: Joe's Typhoon 125 project =D

what do you mean GUESS what bhp it is? what, from the spec? the vid of you not riding it?

well, its got a carb on it made for a 50.. ditch that and get a real size carb, or find a stock runner/typh dell carb./..

if thats the case then its a 172 kit on a stock engine. so probably a true 12bhp (on a good day) stock are around 7bhp on a good dyno (one that gives nice big numbers) and the 172 kkit gives rougly 5bhp.. with the full circle crank you can easily claim 12/13bhp... but thats ALL

the torque generated by a 172 is ALOT ore than a 50 hence they can have similar bhp and yet the 125 be ALOT faster... hp is fucking irelevent.

you wanna know then get it on a dyno.. that or stop waffeling to your mates about bhp as made up numbers dont mean shit, nor do what thewy claim of there cars.. go race somone if you want to know how quick your bike is..
