Finaly the "new" engine arrived from UK.
I did pay £100,- for it, and I think that was a "steal".
It has some major scratches on the side cover, and it misses the vacuum outlet to the gasoline tap. Beside from that it looks ok.
Realy looking forward to start workin on it. :D

that clutch has been hooooooooot! looks cool though. were the pads fucked or something?

could you run a direct feed straight from the petrol tank straight to the carb or do you need the vacuum pipe??

if you need it, how you going to go about sorting the broken outlet??

sparkplug looks like it's had too much coke

the vacum pipe fitting pushes out from the inside.. just push hard with a croshead screwdriver..

the variator without the screws in the back is a 180 variator

lay the clutch on a peice of glass... also rest it on a level surface open side up and lay a spirit level across each shoe pin/shoe body... any difference in any shoe ditch it..

Ok that is good news is't it?
The previous owner must have change it some time ago then :)

Oho i just remembered that Beed speed has a weight over view, and I measured the weights to 19x17, which means it is a 125 variator.
    http://beedspeed.com/html-pages/variator-roller-weights-chart.htm#GILERA

    RUNNER 125cc + FX = 19x17
    RUNNER 180cc + FXR = 20x17

probably find the clutch was changed wiht the variator.. check the bell is true aswell

the rollers can be used in ether variator, you simply move a lil spacing washer from front to back to accomidate the change in diameter.

the order from the front for smaller rollers goes, nut, small washer, starter dog, big washer, outer pulley, TWO washers (thick and thin one) variator on the shaft, pump drive gear.

for the bigger rollers the thinner of the 2 thick washers behind the outer pulley goes between the variator shaft and pump drive gear. usually missing tho so ill try find the washerr dimentions when i get home

No thin washer here, only one "thick" one.
But should't the two variators have different diameters?
Mine are bouth the same dimension.

nope.. same diameter with diff ramps and spaced for whatever size rollers your using. main advantage to the 180 variator is weight.. ive found up to a 20g weight reduction on the 180 variator. can be drilled put on a laith then babanced but this only gives better throttle responce, the 180 ramps as i said are slightly diff an the 180 roller's will last a bit longer. deffo need the washers tho or your front pulley will sit too far back meaning the belt will crab (run out of true front to back resulting in a hell of alot of friction)
