Re: My Typhoon project 172 I did try this airfilter together with the 28 black Stage 6 carb on my Runner 172 today. What a dissapointment, it's so restrectiv that the engine could not rew up. If I removed both spongefilters, it could be used, but with no spongefilter inside there is no use of it anymore. I'm than back to the "drawingboard", as the open filter I can use is making to MUCH noice. Any suggestion on what filter to use? I'm thinking of using a Runner 125 original filterbox together with a 25mm Dellorto and Malossi redfilter.
Re: My Typhoon project 172 standard airbox or the one you pictured above and drill neat holes in it one by one until it runs nicely
Re: My Typhoon project 172 Oh yeah, I have a carb expert as a neighbour, so he helps me. There is so much vacuum in the engin, that it need a BIG open airfilter The 25mm Dellorto must also have a more open filer than the one I have used so far as well. I have the smallest pilot jet, and it still is too rich. (which equals more air in) The problem is only in first 1/8 of trottle. The rest is ok.
Re: My Typhoon project 172 You'll have to play with that filter to get it on the 25 mate, nibbles told me his was a right bodge
Re: My Typhoon project 172 Yepp thats correct, it was a very tight fit. Got some new parts today, will post some pictures later tonight.
Re: My Typhoon project 172 Any one have any comment to this exhaust? The add says it add 15% more power compare to the original one. And it's very cheap only £ 150,-
Re: My Typhoon project 172 http://www.scootershack.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14899&p=174595#p174595 have a little look at this. love seeing updates on this project. need to see pics
Re: My Typhoon project 172 I got my box from PM Tuning today. It's not so much to brag about, but anyway here is some pictures of the parts. New rear fender, same as the Hexagon I have also got my brakedisk back, this time it's straigth Here is the new HEL brakehose from PM. There was also a small adapter included, so I could screw the hose straigth into the brakehandle. I have also converted the headlight to the new halogen type. And I have fixed the light switch as well.
Re: My Typhoon project 172 Been a while since the last update, but I'm a little short on time, as I'm redecorating a bathroom + + +. I did find this pick on the net, and mine will be allmost identical to this one. Give me some weeks more, and I will post some real updates.
Re: My Typhoon project 172 wrong wheels gor a gilera stgorm, altho you can remake the original piaggio storm (1996 special typhoon with nrg rims and a strange seat) the new storms are FAR too common.. do a matt black original!! keep it up tho, looking good, parts list is certianly impressive
Re: My Typhoon project 172 Thanks for the reply Minor. I'm paintstripping the last wheel now, and will have them both powdercoated at work in about 2 weeks. (The factory is closed for the summer) Than I'm almost finish, and it's time for a start up
Re: My Typhoon project 172 I think I need to change the old rear damper, and have come across this "cheap" version in Norway. What do you think about this, does it look ok?
Re: My Typhoon project 172 certinaly looks the part, if its cheap enough to waste money on it try it out.. it might just be an improvment (wont be hard as the standard shock is hardly impressive....)
Hi Your "HEL brakehose from PM" with its brakedisk are really some wonderfull parts !!! Will I have to change my SIS to have the same ??? ;O)
Hello Thie. Thanks for the comment. It hs been a while sinse last update, but I will contiune this (awsome) project when we got closer to the spring. It's so cold in Norway now, and I have to do some of the remaineing work outside.
keep it up fella... should be a good new year wiht all the promises of projects from everyone...
