    windows vista :( :(

running xp on a pc designed for vista = ultimate speed and reliability (and compatibility)

is harman/kardon a good speaker make? my mum just donated me them and the bass and speakers ect are superb tempted to buy more from them

my comp's upstairs...... no wireless/cable up there so i use the misses pc down in the livingroom...

harman/kardon are high end, yet expensive for what you get... same quality sound can be had for WAY less money.. if your aiming this high you wouldent be buying a small 5.1 system.. you would be buying a split amp 5.1 controlled rig/rackmount gear...

there comes a point when home system's just end up more expensive and less functional than cheaper rackmount stuff, you know, professional gear not the tame pritty home version. you will always be better off wiht a rackmount rig if your aiming this high.. were talking sub 1000 quid setups... even sub 500 if you shop about. can do speakers and amp for less than 200 if you REALLY do some hunting. but ye, anything aimed at home cinema will be shit... same as anything aimed at pc use... aim for MUSIC USE. you will appreciate why they use more power than an all in one shitstem

Yh i totally agree with the tv it's a bit shite tbh might have been good back in the day but now it's crap....hence why it's going soon. The equaliser though does help a lot sure i agree that music producers do create music to sound how they want, but they have to be neutral about it so it suites a wide variety of systems from headphones to full on nightclubs etc, it's a compromise so the graphic helps to fine tune the music to sound better on the system it's played on.

erm no.... if your amp and speakers are matched well then you dont need a graphic.. if you need to tweak the bass mid or low then your speakers are not performing verry well... the best sound comes from being graphic nutural, even high end rigs... the only reason to run an eq is to gain volume at the expence of QUALITY.. wich you shouldent have to.

best rigs run no eq and a compressor/limiter to keep everything loud and crispy. graphics are about for poor speaker/amp setups or when running club rigs with a million different speaker ranges (you trim out the shit noise from the worst speakers at the cost of performance on your maqins) eq's are old cop shit. shouldent use them anymore, ATALL
