    well... dont laugh....

the head gasket that came was actually too small, so i went with my dads 'genius' suggestion and used silicone and the old gasket  then the base was a piece of aluminum i cut out with a section of maths book

haha, that was my mate going down 15 sizes, not me!

so why would it blow up from using silicone and heightening the barrel?

No disrespect but you obviously don't know what you are doing. Nothing wrong in saying it mind you.

Combustion chamber on a 70cc cylinder head is not the same size as the one on a 50cc in the first place. Plus ur using a 47mm piston, you can easily see a difference in size here... no?

That's why it was pissing coolant everywhere in the first place. As I said before, you can put a lot of silicone and get it to work... or even plaster!...

What dont you wait to have decent parts to do it right? Rushing it will only make it a bad project at the end.

oh no, i knew the head was the wrong size and was going to fuck up, thats why i made a thicker base gasket so it cleared it.
and the only reason i used silicone was because i had to use the old head gasket due to the new one being the wrong size which caused the leak.

if i didnt know what i was doing i wouldnt have recognised it needed a thicker base gasket before i even put the head on, or chamfering the ports, or how to re-use old gaskets. hell if i hadnt done a plug check i would if been riding it burning coolant.

the only part i fucked up on without realising was the up-jet

mate if i was you I'd just give up on the idea and just get a decent kit and buy a box of jets for 7quid that will cover all sizes you'll probably ever need for any level of tuning you decide :)
