Anyone know the correct carburettor needle setting, for the Dellorto carb. on a Honda Sky SGX 50.....or is it a matter of trial and error ?.....at the moment the needle is set to the lowest position, eg the circlip is on the highest groove....any thoughts welcome....

Thanks for that....the old girl is not quite running right, and from memory of other bikes I have had, I thought that the needle was too low....back in the day I had a BSA Bantam, which I altered the needle on, and it seized up.....what's really needed is a run up and down the street on this one......

O.k have now got the circlip on the second groove of the needle...there are 5 grooves......she runs o.k but won't tick over, even with the tick over screw screwed right in.....shall I try it on the third groove ?.....I don't want to weaken the petrol / oil mix too much.....

    Errr
That doesn't sound right, could be the idle speed set wrong.

Is the mixture screw air or fuel?

I think the mixture screw is air....managed to get her ticking over, by adjusting the throttle cable at the handlebars.....
