Feel as if we are going mad.!!!! Indicators stopped flashing (just stayed on when you tried to indicate) on my sons Yamaha Jog RR liquid cooled 2003 scooter. We ordered a new flasher relay which arrived and since then we have taken the bike totally to pieces looking for the old relay to change for the new one. We have rung loads of different bike places and they have all told us that it should be located somewhere on the front stem indeed Yamaha themselves have said this. The problem is it isn't, we just don't seem to have one on the bike. Have traced all the wires from the bulbs , both front and back and can't find a flasher relay of any sort. Anybody got any idea as to what else we can do?

Help desperately needed
flasher unit might be combined in the clocks so non replacable.. is the dash working ok?
usually the yamaha ones are somwhere around the fork stem, follow the loom from the left switch gear down, i beleive the flasher relay should be just to one side of the bike, it does mean removing the front panel. unfortunately its a long time since i've worked on one so i cant fully remember.
Yeah rest of dash all seems to be working ok. The only other problem we've had is that the front lights/ side lights blew about same time as flasher not working but we've replaced those bulbs and all seems to be ok with them now, don't know as this is related tho as they seem to be on different circuit.
could be a regulator/rectifier unit on the blink. check that the flasher isnt built into that, some of the later yammys are seriously confusing. if it is you may have to do a bit of re-wiring.

Yamaha reckons it should be on the left of the stem under the clocks but it is definately not there. Checked out the voltage and it stays stable under high revs which I'm told rules out the regulator being faulty. The thing we can't understand is that Yamaha say we should definately have a flasher relay unit on the bike but it doesn't appear to be where they say it should or anywhere else for that matter. Spoke to three different Yamaha places and they all say the same. We've literally taken every panel off the bike looking for this and can't find anything like the new one we been supplied with or any other design. Someone at Yamaha did say that it might of falen off but then there would at least be wires to fit the new one to but there's not even any of them!!!!!!!!!
there has to be one somwhere.
ye i agree on what you said with some of the newer electrics. wiring, its weird this new rox, the automatic choke I reckon is shite takes ages of kicks to start, the old nitro did it in one with choke on
yeh on the roxes, at least the flasher relay bit is on the stem. take the front panel off and picture it for us and well tell you if its ther or not

if you cant find it and the indicators arnt working try the switch that turns your indicators on as i had this problem with my aerox i changed the flasher unit and found that it was the switch.
