I didn't read the rest of the post so don't moan if I repeated anything,
Go on compare the market find the bike you want, fill out the rest of the form correctly, obviously the more annual miles you put on the more expensive it'll be because your riding it more, they'll give you the best quotes.
As for chains, oxford hardcore chain, oxford ground anchor, ped should come with steering lock, and hopefully an immobiliser.
The chains about £40, the more expensive the chain is the cheaper your insurance will be, oxford have a brilliant rep for good security devices.
And it'll also depend on where you store the bike overnight.
    Hope this helps

And by the way, you can get a rough quote with no license, just put it in a couple days before today, same with cbt,

I insured my bike the day I got the license, which was the day before I done my cbt, got a quote about a month before and it was spot on

£100 for a 1.5m long one, that's the length you'll need if you wanna lock it up to something

either way if the thief really wants your bike they will get it, no matter how much you spend on security, a lock is for prevention/deterent, I have a few locks but my oxford chain and padlock and oxford disc lock are my favourite, get a guard dog for when its parked at home, trust me, no fucker will try it then.

Also, may seem abit ridiculous, but weather covers prevent it, the saying 'out of sight, out of mind'
They aren't going to know what exactly is under it

Im going on the same thoughts. If it has some security the general theif wont bother. But if someone wants it. Its goin no matter. Have got an oxford gp chain. And an oxford mini. Also got a ground anchor and cover for when its at home

Yeh, all you can do is make it as hard as you can to deture them
