    sorry lads, take it back
    [IMG]

that looks loads better then a swift.

standard, the car looks gash, modded the fuck out of yeh, it looks nice, but so do the other 2000 of them at the car show, along with the "euro style" clio's, corsa's and nova's.

    and LOL

buy a swift off ebay for 50 quid then, subtle mods? you are saying that that golf has subtle mods?

you have no brain mate, absolutely no brain at all, what size engine is in the rover? if its a 1.2 or 1.4 or something then yeh, it will be faster, just because its owned by an older person doesnt mean its slow does it you mong. 50+ year olds drive 3l+ jags around, wouldnt say "bruv, my grandads bugatti is probably faster then that" you silly tit.

    sensible quote

mate is obsessed with nova's, cant see the attraction, same mods get done "badboy" bonnet, dress it as a car it isnt, then do a few little mods and take it down the nearest carpark to redline it infront of some proper sketty girls.

so now your comparing a tatty golf that hasnt been cleaned in 3 years to your shiney rice burner?

atleast it isnt made from tin foil
    :D

lets just agree to disagree here, im struggling to see what car youd end up with if you dont like subtle or extreme styling here :emb:

and grant, vr6 tubby ftw  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSxeoSnKeoM

lol, shiny rice burner? a standard swift? need your eyes checked mate.

i would end up with a subtle modified car, but that rallye is not subtle, that is "FUCKING LOOK AT ME MATE, I'M SLAMMED ON NON STANDARD ALLOYS, IM MODDDDDDDDDDDDDED"

and in that pic my swift hadnt been cleaned for about a year or so.

anyway rezzin, as i OWN the car i'm talking about, not sit behind a computer screen slowly noshing one out over somebody elses, answers to the questions.

mk2-3 is the best age of swifts as parts availability is good and most parts are pretty universal across the two, engine size there are a few options, 1.0 3cyl, 1.0 4cyl, 1.3gti are the most common, there are also 1.4 and 1.6 along with turbo varieties which are pretty rare in the uk. 0-60 in the books is 16 seconds i believe for the 3cyl, couple of simple mods gets that closer to 13, not amazing, but its a first car and it will feel SO quick when you're the one doing it. top speed, clocks see over 100, more likely to be around the 90-95 mark in all honesty, but like i said, will feel very fast when you're the one in control. as for money, look for a bargain, electric windows and power steering are bonus' and alloy wheels are standard on a few models along with the small spoiler in the pic of mine.

    terrance HAHAHA

erm, car isnt actually that clean, just doesnt show dirt very much, same as it doesnt show imperfections, dents are scratches hide in that paintwork ;)

and rezzin, mine is a 99, comes with electric windows, alloys and the small spoiler, GLS model, ebay it or look round, ask minor, he always knows someone with something ;)

go round all the local scrapyards and see if some sell cars, one down the road from me does quite a few. never perfect but many are cheap as chips (ones with full mot cant be all that bad) my local one has loads of diff cars for sale.

also classified ads are good in the paper

tends to be hard to find a bargain on ebay because people view them and go over the cheap barrier with their bidding as they cant be arsed fucking around for weeks, autotrader is fairly good

best if you can get one of these rac/aa complete car check things for peace of mind

tbh you could sit here all day reading a list of cars getting added, what you wanna do is sit on quinn direct and just keep trying different cars on there, then when you find the cheapest car to insure look on autotrader and price up a car to see if you can afford it all

first car debates are never ending, and i think the price is key.
id rather go for a cheap car for a year or two then buy a decent car to maybe modify but purely because ive had a cheap car and now want a nice one.

i got offered a v reg punto 60, 5 door, 40k, alarm/immob, cd player, metallic paint for only 350. But i know the common faults for puntos - headgaskets, oil leaks and the rear suspension always plays havoc on pre 2000 puntos. BUT it has had a full service history, been in good sensible hands for the last 3 years and so decided to buy it.

on the other hand i could have saved up all my money and bought something more ott, like a friend of mine who decided to buy a vw polo, which are once again good and reliable but even the 1l will rape on insurance. so he decided on the 1.4l (the cl not the 16v :( )

Currently its got sport front and rear bumpers and side trims resprayed in the car colour (metallic lime green), lowered on stock alloys, roof and bonnet have been sprayed black with a pearl, debadged front grill and slightly tinted rear lights. Being a vw it has a nice modern interior and also has the rag top roof, the sound setups nice aswell which i fitted.

Xplod sterio with ipod connector, infinity 6x9s, fli twin active sub and alpine tweeters.

Cost him £1700 insurance was almost £3000 and my punto would still sit right behind his

anyways what you think of the car??

Its a 1.4 in the end of the day so cant really be that good and polo's arent really known for pulling lool but must say it does look like a beast :D
